What is Pria?

  • Pria by BLACK+DECKER is a new automated medication dispenser and management device and the first direct-to-consumer product from STANLEY Healthcare
  • With a mission to empower loved ones who desire to maintain independence while staying connected to their families, Pria by BLACK+DECKER is a HIPAA-compliant platform, voice-enabled tabletop robot that provides caregivers day-to-day insight into their loved one’s adherence to both prescribed and over-the-counter medication therapy and wellbeing through a mobile application
  • Pria proactively facilitates in-home healthcare management by scheduling up to 28 medication doses, providing reminder alerts, dispensing medication at the scheduled time, and providing the user with fast access to family or caregivers with a simple voice command and built-in camera for two-way video calls
  • Pria is the ultimate home healthcare tracking and management tool for independent individuals and their caregivers

How does Pria work?

  • Caregivers simply enter their older adult’s medication schedule into the mobile app and then easily load medication into the device through the pill chute… Pria walks you through every step during assisted fill
  • During the filling process, Pria will describe which medication is to be loaded into the pill chute and automatically sorts the pills
  • If your loved one takes liquid medication such as insulin that can’t be stored in the pill wheel, Pria can still remind you to take that medication
  • When is is time to take the medication, Pria uses facial recognition or a preset PIN number to dispense the pills
  • Once the pill cup is removed and placed back on the device, the caregivers can check their mobile app to ensure that the medication was taken
  • If the medication is missed, the caregiver is notified through the app

Why is Pria especially valuable while we are practicing social distancing?

  • Invaluable caregiving tool during this period of social distancing because caregivers are able to monitor their loved ones’ health completely remotely using the device and companion app
  • With features like two-way video calling, drop-in video calls, daily check ins and more, caregivers are able to stay close to their loved ones without risking their health
